Enrich your meditation practice with this special mala made with traditional rudraksha beads, also known as 'shiva tears' after Lord Shiva. It is said the Lord Shiva went into a deep meditation for the well-being of all sentient beings and when he concluded, he opened his eye and tears fell to the earth. The tears were in the form of seeds which grew into trees. Later these trees became known as the Rudraksha tree. The dry seed capsules of this tree is what is traditionally used as mala beads, making them sacred to Shiva and aiding in healing the heart center and balancing the chakras. They promote inner peace as well as granting knowledge, power and enlightenment. The rudraksha beads universally work well with all intentions.
Designed with an energizing yet calming palette to promote surrendering and moving forward with your purpose, trusting in divine will and attracting abundance and joy. Features turquoise howlite which helps with grounding and letting go of attachments. The turquoise color resonates with the throat chakra to help with expressing one's personal will as well as promoting tranquility. The baby guru bead, gaspiete, supports positive purpose of personal power to accomplish goals. The spacer beads feature one tiny pyrite for attracting abundance and igniting your passion and the other two are African vinyl disc beads, which do not have crystaline energy but do offer an energizing effect that resonnates with the third chakra, associated with personal will, clarity and direction. The mala is finished in a slate grey, cotton tassel adorned with gold thread for a bit of added glam. If you feel the transition on the horizon or are planning a life change in the future, this might be your mala. It is designed to help bring clarity, energy and peace during transition.
It is traditionally made using 108 beads and is hand-knotted between the spacer beads. There are three spacer beads in additional to the 108 mantra beads. Spacers are designed to help you keep track of how far along you are in your meditation and more importantly, designed to bring the mind back to into focus when it drifts away.
The rudraksha beads are approximately 7mm round but because they are natural, they will vary slightly in size which will also vary the overall length. If you prefer to wear the mala on your wrist, contact us for additional details to confirm. We can always make a custom piece that will be sure to wrap nicely around your wrist four times.
The mala can easily be worn as a necklace or used exclusively for japa mala practice. To enhance your relationship that you will develop with your mala over time, we've only made one of these to make it truly one-of-a-kind. Sure we can re-create something similar but these unique beads make this what it is. We believe selecting a mala is a special process and when you find the right one for your practice, you know it!
This mala also comes with a Tibetan mala bag made from recycled saris so that you can keep your mala safe while not in use. It also makes for an eye catching infusion of color on your puja table.
Made with love, blessed with sage, and ready for your intentions.
