In just a few days, the Winter Solstice will be upon us. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, the Winter Solstice will have the longest night and the shortest day of the year. It is a powerful day, regardless of whether or not you are particularly religious or spiritual.
The Winter Solstice is a time of quiet celebration, not only of the gradual return to longer periods of daylight, but also to celebrate ourselves and enter into our own periods ofregeneration, renewal and self-reflection. The winter solstice symbolizes the rebirth of light. This is a natural time to connect with the earth's rhythm, look within to recognize our own inner light and all the ways it is wanting to expand.
Enjoy this simple solstice ritual for connecting with your soul's inner wisdom and gaining rich insights for the months ahead.
Take time to sit in darkness, enjoying the light a small candle flickering and waving along.
Drop into a meditation turning all of your attention inward. As your body and mind become more deeply relaxed, see a glowing light within your heart that mirrors that of the candle.
Ask it what it needs.
Soften the mind and be aware of how it may try to jump in with answers. Rest in this space until you hear the soft, gentle expression of your soul. It holds wisdom that is longing to be heard. Give yourself this time and space to let it come forward.
Once you have gained what you need, you’ll know when it’s complete, softly open your eyes and take time to journal what you received.
Consider any limiting beliefs that may be holding you back. Get them out of your head and allow your pen to flow, freely writing what is coming to the surface.
Close your ritual with something that feels nourishing to seal in a high vibration. This can be singing or chant, dance, savoring something sweet like chocolate or warm tea, reading a book or making art… whatever allows your heart to expand into a broader sense of freedom and expression.
However you choose to celebrate the Winter Solstice, just know that this day isn’t about being critical of yourself and obsessing on your shortcomings. This is a day of rebirth, for shedding those negative thoughts that plague us and instead, focusing on how we can grow. It is a day of introspection, connecting with ourselves on a deeper level, and discovering how we can recreate ourselves in the new year to come.
We are hosting a workshop on Thurs, Nov 19 from 6:30pm-8:00pm, that aligns with the mission of our monthly box, Anchor the Light. In this class you'll experience a guided meditation connecting you to your true self to discover personal insights for empowering your journey forward. Exercise your creativity by creating your own affirmation for inner growth during this new season, and seal your intentions by making a bracelet that will serve as a daily reminder and offer energetic support.
This work inspires the spirit, raises your vibration and increases resiliency.
Space is limited. Purchase your ticket in advance to save your seat! This also allows us to properly plan materials.
