Three Rituals for Amplifying Spring Equinox Intentions

The Spring Equinox is potent time of year that signifies equal lightness and darkness. From this day forward, we will emerge into more and more light. It is a natural time of awakening, of rebirth, and starting anew. It is a time for germination!

This time of year is full of movement as plants start to rise up from the ground and people start to spend more time outdoors. There's a feeling of hope as we move out of winter (darkness) and into this new season that is full of light.

It is energetically in harmony to be flooded with new ideas and to feel your creative juices flowing. Let the ideas pour in and write them down so you don't forget them!

three rituals for amplifying spring equinox intentions

Like with any turning point of the seasons, this is a perfect time to turn inward and reflect on where you've been and set intentions for the season ahead. What are your heart's desires? Get quiet and tune in so you can really hear its whispers. What does it need? What does it long for? Consider journaling your thoughts to feel into this on a deeper level.

From this place set an intention for the season ahead. Write out your intention so it is clear. When you write it, you energize the words with your body, mind and spirit.

Once you have your intention energized, choose one of these rituals to amplify it. With this you will be carrying your intention forward into a daily practice of inner reflection and connection with your spiritual center.

Three Rituals for Amplifying your Intention:

Store it in a crystal or bracelet.

You can energetically program information into a crystal. You can do this with a small stone that you will carry with you in your pocket; a larger stone that could be placed on your nightstand; or a bracelet that you will wear daily. Quartz crystal or any variety of it (rose quartz, amethyst, smokey quartz and citrine) are best, but any mineral will work.

Hold your crystal or bracelet in your right hand with the left hand underneath at heart level. Take a few deep, centering breaths to come into the present moment. You can create your own invocation or simply say, "I call on the highest vibrations of love and light, archangels and ascended masters, asking to program my intention of <state your intention> into the crystal for my highest good and for the good of all of humanity. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."

Hold a sense of gratitude in your heart as you thank your guides and the wisdom of the earth for supporting you.

Plant a seed (literally).

Planting a seed in a small container creates a physical representation of your intention. It is a beautiful to watch it grow and know that just like the plant, the universe is responding to your intention.

Create a sacred space for this. Choose a plant that you love or maybe one that you know will grow well in your environment. Choose a flower pot that makes you smile. As you sew the seeds, state your own invocation and intention, or you can say, "I call on the highest vibrations of love and light, asking to support my intention of <state your intention> for my highest good and for the good of all of humanity. Allow this seed to represent my growth during this time. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."

Hold a sense of gratitude in your heart as you thank your guides and the wisdom of the plant kingdom for supporting you.

Chant with a mala daily.

Japa mala is a powerful practice of working with a mala (aka prayer beads) to chant a mantra 108 times. Each bead keeps count of your mantra and the mantra is chosen to align with your intention. The repetition of chant moves the mind to stillness and restores balance in the body, mind and spirit. It's a beautiful way to meditate, especially for those who feel their mind is too busy to sit in stillness.

When starting a mala practice, it is said to chant the mala for 40 days to 'charge' the mala. Each time you chant, you infuse your energy into the mala and into your intention. It is a time you carve out each day to come back to reflect and turn inward. This simple practice aligns you with source energy to create a potent field for fertilizing your intention.

This is SUCH a powerful practice! If you're new to the idea, check out our ebook, The Art of Mala Making, Ritual and Practice.

When you make your own mala, the creative process is a meditation in itself. With each bead you string, state your intention or manta infusing your energy with every bead strung. It's a beautiful expression of spiritual practice.
